Computer Vision
Computer Vision is one of the advanced fields of Artificial Intelligence that has gained a lot of attention and interests in the recent times. This field deals with training the computer systems to understand and interpret visual inputs in the form of images or videos. The use of computer vision has made the life of human beings much easier in many ways such as object reduction, face recognition etc. Let us know about those real applications of computer vision.
Object detection- It identifies a particular object in an image. Intelligent systems can identify more than one object in an image with precise locations such as detecting the people crossing the road.
Facial recognition- It is an advanced type of object detection that recognizes a human face in an image. It also identifies a specific individual if there are more people in a given frame.
Pattern detection- It is a process of recognizing repeated shapes, colours and other visual indicators in images. It is used to find the underlying or hidden details of an image.
Many advanced techniques such as self-driving cars that uses computer vision are still in development phase. Due to advances in artificial intelligence and innovations in deep learning and neural networks, this field has been able to take great leaps in recent years and will be able to surpass humans in some tasks related to detecting and labelling objects.
