Mr. Sankar Viswanathan, Vice President was born on 13th April 1966. He completed his Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology, at Chisholm Institute, Melbourne, Australia. He has held honoured positions as the Chairman, and Vice-Chairman of Vellore Engineering College, Vellore before taking over charge as the Pro-Chancellor (Academic) at VIT. He has also served as the Secretary of the North Arcot Educational & Charitable Trust of Vellore. Dr. P. Gunasekaran, former Vice Chancellor of Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore, a renowned Senior Professor of Microbiology from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai has 33 years of teaching and research experience in Microbiology, Biotechnology and Genomics. He had his Ph.D. degree from Haryana Agricultural University, D.Sc. degree from Madurai Kamaraj University and Post-doctoral experience from CNRS, France and MIT, USA. He served as the President of Biotechnology Research Society of India and the President of Association of Microbiologists of India.
