Inaugural Function of National Science Week Celebration
VIT Bhopal University is celebrating National Science Week during 25th February – 03rd March 2022 to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by the great Indian physicist Sir C V Raman on February 28, 1928.
Inaugural Function of the Celebration Week has been organized today on 25th February 2022 during 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Shri Nilesh M. Desai, Distinguised Scientist & Director, Space Application Centre (SAC) – ISRO, Ahmedabad was the chief guest of the Inaugural Function. Honorable Vice Chancellor, VIT Bhopal University Dr. U. Kamachi Mudali presided the Inaugural Function. The inaugural function started with Welcome Address by Dr. Sharad Chandra Tripathi. He welcomed the Chief Guest Shri Nilesh M. Desai and all other dignitaries who joined this celebration in virtual mode and informed the audience about the events planned for Science Week Celebration. Vice Chancellor, Dr. U. Kamachi Mudali gave the opening remarks and informed the audience about the initiatives being taken by VIT Bhopal University to uplift the educational standards, in general, and in the central part of the country, in particular. He insisted the need of science popularization for the reach of scientific temperament of the fellow citizen of the country. He informed that by launching Future Ready Programmes, VIT Bhopal is service the country in preparing high quality workforce who can contribute in nation building and fulfil the country’s need of skilled human resource.
Shri Nilesh M. Desai, Distinguised Scientist and Director, Space Application Centre, Ahmedabad delivered inaugural address and he thanked to VIT Bhopal for inviting him in the inaugural function of National Science Week Celebration to commemorate the achievements of Sir C. V. Raman. In his address, he emphasised the Indian Knowledge system and ancient technology, which is being acknowledged by the world today. He said that ISRO is working in the light of the dreams of the founder Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and Space Application Centre is celebrating its 50 years of establishments. He informed about the initiatives being taken by SAC in developing space technology, which is of great importance of common public at large. He emphasized on the development of new communication techniques required in today’s cyber sensitive world and informed the audience about the recent developments made in India in the field of quantum communications. Shri Desai appreciated the efforts of VIT Bhopal in training students at such a large scales where more than 7500 students are studying at VIT Bhopal and being trained on Future Ready Skills and over 40000 students in VIT group of Institutions. He appreciated the efforts of VIT Bhopal in celebrating National Science Week on such a large scale and inviting a number of speakers from across the globe on a single forum.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar Kayshap delivered vote of thanks during the inaugural session. He thanked VIT Bhopal management for the desired support to conduct the celebration week. He thanked all the speakers for their consent to deliver the lecture during the celebration week. He thanked MPCST and NCSTC (DST), for grant of National Science Day 2022.
