National Science Day is celebrated to spread the message about the importance of science in the daily life of the people and how it is contributing to the society at large. This creates an opportunity to display the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. Participation of society in such celebrations develops scientific temperament in the public and also the sense of responsibility and belongingness towards nation. Issues being faced by the society and their possible technical solutions can be discussed on such platforms and the implementation of new technologies for the development in the field of science can also be done.
Theme of National Science Day Celebration 2021 is declared as “Future of Science, Technology & Innovation: Impacts on Education, Skills and Work”.
VIT Bhopal University is celebrating National Science Week during 22-28, February 2021 to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by the great Indian physicist Sir C V Raman on February 28, 1928.
A Lecture Series, Inter University Quiz Competition (National Level) and e-Exhibition (for School Students) is planned during the celebration week
Learning is a never ending process and it’s a fact that practicing retrieval of something after learning it helps in retaining it for the long term. Retrieval aids later retention and testing produces better organization of knowledge by helping the brain to organize material in clusters to allow better retrieval. With this psychological fact and the aim of giving an opportunity to students to check their scientific knowledge and rigor, an Inter University Quiz Competition (National Level) is being organized. Students of UG & PG level from Indian Universities can participate in this quiz competition
Eligibility: Under Graduates & Post Graduates are eligible for the Quiz Competition.
Content: Content of the quiz will cover the General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Environmental Science) and Recent Trends in Science and Technology. Questions from Lecture series will also be included in the quiz competition.
