1.Which branch is more important Architecture or civil engineering?

Both are remarkably important and unique of their own. One brings the imagination and concepts on to paper and models while other is an expert who can transform that model into real structure.

Architects take care of the beauty and functionality of a structure while Engineers take care of the strength and safety aspects.

Architecture is a specialized education where you are trained to design an imagination of owner , with best use of space, functional, useful, economical  visually pleasing and functionally efficient design for human use. Engineers on the other hand incorporate these spaces with security, structural properties and technology based formation of the project.

An architect’s design is of no use unless coming into reality and an engineer is helpless in absence of the Design and concept. The futuristic imagination needs an architect and the present construction of the imagination needs an engineer.

To sum up; both make equally challenging and rewarding careers.

3.It is compulsory to get COA license after architecture?

Yes , Council of Architecture Registration in mandatory for practicing architecture and also in various jobs and recruitment in Architectural institutions and Firms.

 

4.Why B Arch is a five year course ?

B ARCH  is a five year degree course approved and monitored by Council of Architecture Delhi in India. Western countries also have Architecture as B.Des  4 year, 3 year course. But 5 year degree course is a Bachelor of Degree program having 6months of training and Thesis submission as mandatory in final year. Shorter duration programs give you  BS.C degree and not B Arch. Only B Arch degree gets the registration as architect in Council of architecture.

 

5.Which exam is needed to qualify in securing Architecture seat?

For securing seat in any architecture department throughout the country you need to qualify and secure good NATA Score in the NATA examination conducted by COA

6.Who will pay more B. Architecture, or B.E civil or B Design?

There is no such scale for measuring more or less. Its all your ability and input to any profession which brings opportunities, earning, fame and success. The more  you are knowledgeable and experienced in your field , the more brighter chances of success is there.

7.Does this program allow me to gain practical work experience while I am a student?

Yes, right from first year you can have field experience of self or as intern in different organizations , firms and consultants. B Arch course itself has a 6 months training in 8th semester where you undergo training in some firm for 6 months .

8.Does this program offer study abroad or interdisciplinary opportunities?

Yes.  A graduate from any university approved by COA, B. Arch degree is accepted as valid UG degree for further studies  in Design, Planning, Economics, Transportation, Land management, Construction management, project management , MBA,  Arbitration, Valuation  Journalism, Sustainable Architecture, Landscape, Land Economics, Product design and consultant, Geomatics,etc.

9.How to start practice after doing Architecture Course?

Before starting direct practice, it is advisable to do a training under supervision of  an senior architect and get experience of , office, design, site management, project management, economic management etc. You can start practice after receiving COA registration number by self free lancing, or in partnership, take projects in Municipal corporation, Smart city, PHE, and other departments. Also Some turnkey consultancy with construction and supervision can be taken initially, with self practice or with some builder.

10.My drawing is not good, Still can I Study architecture?

Yes, Architecture is not based on drawing efficiency, it is based on your imaginative skills, creativity, Visualization, and conceptualization of activities.

 

11.Whether B.Arch course is acceptable as UG degree in western countries?

Yes, Five Year B Arch course from any university approved by COA is acceptable as valid U G Course in all universities within and outside India.

12.Which is more suitable for female students: Architecture or Civil engineering?

Every profession is suitable for females as profession and education are not gender biased.  Architecture has more creativity, versatility, application of themes, colours, texture, patterns and designing spaces which attract more female students . Professionally also female students have excelled in this profession due to their ability of multitasking, creativity, imagination and acceptance of changing utility of spatial activities. Civil engineering on the other hand has application of engineering solutions to structural and management components which also has its own challenges and liked by many female students.
