Manav Sangralaya
The department of MCA (Masters of computer applications) has organized a study visit at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal on 4th May 2024 (Saturday) from 10:00AM to 6:30 PM. The visit was organized for the purpose of the “Application Project in Community Service”. Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya also referred to as the National Museum of Humankind, or Museum of Man and Culture is a museum located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. The museum spreads over an area of about 200 acres on the Shymala Hills in the city. This museum depicts the story of mankind in time and space. It is the largest ethnographic museum in India. Students visited at Vithi Sankul, Library and Museum for the data collection required to build the projects. Under the guidance of the museum curators, this tour group visited the museum’s indoor exhibition gallery, building gallery complex, coastal village and desert village open-air exhibition, and tribal open-air exhibition areas.
Prof. Amithabh Pandy, the Director, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, addressed the students while discussing their research topic in the conference room. In his address, he explained in detail the role of the communities in maintaining this museum and also inspired the students to work towards making the museum accessible to more and more people through modern information technology. Under the guidance of the museum curators, this tour group visited the museum’s indoor exhibition gallery, building gallery complex, coastal village and desert village open-air exhibition, and tribal open-air exhibition areas. Prof. Amithabh discussed on various projects and asks the students about technology contributions from their side.
The Director, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya thanked the VIT Bhopal, University for arranging the study tour. At the end of the conference talks Dr. Anjali Mathur, Associate Professor, Program Chair-MCA and the Convener of the study tour has delivered the vote of thanks.
Van Vihar
The department of MCA (Masters of computer applications) has organized a study visit at Van Vihar Zoo and National Park, Bhopal on 27th April 2024 (Saturday) from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The visit was organized for the purpose of the “Application Project in Community Service”. Students are required to identify real life problems and work in teams. The problem chosen should be specific and therefore students, under the guidance of the faculty, can go on field visits for identifying the day to day issues and, if solved, can improve the quality of living. After identifying and defining the problem, methodology has to be framed using relevant scientific methods. The solution given should be based on fabrication /coding / modeling / product design /process design / other relevant methodology. At Van Vihar Zoo and National Park, students identified following problems : Treatments of animals, Meal consumption, Meal leftovers, Waste management, Medical check-ups, Restriction of animals during illness, Tracking of animals, Use of tracking chips fitted on tails of animal, Prediction of animal health status by consumption of meal.
