The cybersecurity market was valued at USD 161.07 Billion in 2019, and it is expected to reach USD 363.05 Billion by 2025, registering a CAGR of 14.5% during 2020-2025. Cybersecurity solutions help an organization monitor, detect, report, and counter cyber threats to maintain data confidentiality. The adoption of cybersecurity solutions are expected to grow with the increasing penetration of the Internet among the developing and developed countries, and the need for security solutions has been marked highly by the private financial and banking services sectors, along with the healthcare, and aerospace and defence sectors.

VIT Bhopal has taken an initiative to conduct nation-wide workshop, “CYBER4U”(Cyber for you) on the theme of “Future Ready skills”, so that students of technological background can be aware of current cyber security technology involved in our daily lives. This will surely help them to shape their career with respect to the rapid progress in cyber security technologies and market.

The workshop will be conducted over a period of two days. It will be free of cost. The workshop comprises the introduction to Cyber Security and Digital Forensic along with two interesting competitions.

What is the aim of Cyber4U? (The objectives of Cyber4U) 

Along with the numerous conveniences offered, the digital world has its own set of issues, the most important of which is the rising threat to the privacy of users’ data.

Cyber4U is based on the theme of “Future Ready Skills”. The goal of the workshop is two-fold. Firstly, to make the participants aware of the state of the threats to the security and privacy of users’ and organizations’ sensitive data. Secondly, to offer the participants a hands-on experience in using the tools important to thwart the cybersecurity challenges that the world faces today.

To make the overall learning and application experience fun and interesting, we have organized a cybersecurity contest. You will be required to solve various cybersecurity challenges and if your response turns out to be best of all, you shall be duly rewarded for your efforts with a cash prize.

What should you ‘know’ before attending Cyber4U? (Absolutely NO knowledge prerequisites) 

The workshop has been structured in such a way that there is no need for any specialized knowledge in cybersecurity prior to attending Cyber4U. You shall be introduced to all the tools required for various stages of the workshop during Cyber4U. Moreover, the mentors (the learned faculty members of VIT) shall be available for helping you all through the duration of the workshop.

What shall we do in Cyber4U? (An overall roadmap of the event) 

On day-1 (23rd Jan, 2021) we shall have the inauguration of the event and a contest based on digital forensics. On day-2 (24th Jan, 2021) we shall have a contest based on cybersecurity challenges and we shall announce the winners of the two contests.

About Cyber Security & Digital Forensics @VIT Bhopal

In next few years, India will require millions of Cyber Security Professionals to keep the people, organizations and even the economy of India, safe and protected against these high-tech crimes. Looking at the severity and need, specialised courses are greatly in demand on Cyber Security and Digital Forensics.
