SCSE and VIT Bhopal ACM Student Chapter on 13-02-2019 conducted an Expert Lecture on “Career options, Interviews, Case Studies”. The Expert Lecture was delivered by Mr Meet Kanodia, Advisor, M&A Associate, and ESCP Europe.
Approximately 100 students participated in the lecture. Mr Kanodia focused upon the career options available after the completion of the Engineering course. He focused on many areas to work in like Banking and Finance, Operations, Technical analyst, Management Consulting and Advisory, Product Manager, Start-ups, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics and many more.
He explained how to crack the interview. He demonstrated different ideas to successfully crack an interview, how to strengthen the bio-data and the importance of case study in day to day life.
Students were asked their opinion on the optimal gap between pursuing MBA or M. Tech after completing B.Tech. The answer was explained to the students in very easy, convincing and understandable language. After that the Q&A session started. The students enthusiastically participated in the question and answer session.

Computer Science and Engineering: Industry Experts and Collaborations
The newly constituted “VIT Bhopal ACM Student Chapter” was inaugurated on 18 January 2019 at Auditorium in VIT Bhopal. The inauguration was successfully completed in the presence of second year B.Tech CSE students, first year MCA and members of VIT Bhopal ACM student chapter.

On this occasion the Expert Lecture was conducted on Skype by Mr Arun Kumar K, Senior Manager, IBM Cloud Platform Pillar, Leader – India. Mr Arun talked about “EMERGING TRENDS, TECHNOLOGY and APPLICATIONS”. He explained about top 8 trends prevailing in latest technology along with its tools, job prospects, and applications along with the details of the technology. The technologies were: Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, Cloud Computing, Angular and React, DevOps, Internet of Things (IoT), Intelligent Apps (I – Apps) and Big Data. It was a very informative and knowledgeable lecture.
VIT Bhopal signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Red Hat Academy on June 07, 2019. The brief ceremony took place at the Auditorium of VIT Bhopal.
The creation of a very valuable partnership of VIT Bhopal with the giant Red Hat Academy was forged in the presence of respected Vice President, Mr. Sankar Viswanathan. The chief guest was Mr. Shirish Pandey, APAC Lead – Red Hat Academy.
Dr. Jayasankar Variyar, Executive Director – Academics, gave the welcome speech. He stated about the programming fundamentals and specification about various technologies like Cloud Computing, Red Hat with their benefits.
Mr. Shirish Pandey, APAC Lead – Red Hat Academy, the chief guest started with a motivational quote and expressed his enthusiasm to collaborate with VIT Bhopal. He then addressed the students informing about the courses of RHA programme, stating the duration and the mode of delivery of the course. He also added the various advantages of RHA like the students will be given opportunity to do Red Hat certifications, have various technology experiences with some industrial experiences as well, to achieve greater heights and get selected in the dream companies with such experiences. He ended by elaborating upon the upcoming opportunities for the students.
Mr. Sankar Viswanathan, Vice President blessed the students. His speech gave everyone the motivation to not only just begin the journey with RHA but also shed light on the various technologies and industrial benefits that the students will have in the future.
Vote of thanks was given by Dr. P. Gunasekaran, Vice Chancellor, VIT Bhopal University. He addressed about the various benefits of having RHA associated with VIT Bhopal.
Students were very excited to learn and clear the Red Hat Certifications.

The expert lecture on “Cloud Services and AWS” was organized on August 07, 2019, by Mr Anil Upmanyu, CEO, Prema Software Solutions, Bhopal. Mr Upmanyu gave a deep insight about the cloud services. He explained the application of cloud services and various cloud services available. He created a good understanding of various cloud services. He explained how cloud services can availed using AWS.
The online implementation of cloud services was done on AWS for the students. Additionally the storage service was demonstrated in-front of students. Mrs Upmanyu also demonstrated how a resource can be shared on a cloud publicly.
Overall it was a very informative lecture for the students.
On this occasion Dr Manas K Mishra, Dean , School of Computing Science and Engineering, Dr Pushpinder Singh Patheja, Associate Professor, SCSE (Coordinator – Linux club), Dr Manikandan K, Assistant Dean Academics, Dr Prakash Sarkar, Assistant Professor, (Co-coordinator – Linux Club), were present.
