The Computer Science and Engineering is established in 2017 with an intake of 152 students under the School of Computing Science and Engineering (SCOPE). The current strength of 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 batches are 290, 414, 1100, 1600 students. The Computer Science and Engineering major provides professional education in computer science to prepare the student for graduate study or for a career in the computing field. Students learn concepts and skills needed for designing, programming, and applying computer systems while also learning the theoretical and mathematical foundations of computer science. The B.Tech in CSE with emphasis on Digital Transformation Technologies has received instant endorsement by industry leaders. Nasscom is playing a critical role in evangelizing digital opportunity for the IT sector.
The CALTech based learning methodology which enables the teacher and the group of students to mould the learning style dependent on the profile of the learners and create an environment to provide constructivism and collaborative learning. The ‘flipped-classroom’ model and a unique mastery learning platform integrated into the project based learning approach. This will be embedded with Full Stack Programming, Big Data, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (IOT) curriculum to make it more industry relevant. To excel in the CSE core program, an aspiring student should build a strong background in mathematics and science. Needless to say, self-motivation is always a desirable skill to excel in any field.
Will I have the freedom to specialize in a domain once I join the CSE core program at your university?
Apart from the regular coursework, we have several electives that grant you the freedom to further specialize in a desired field. This allows you to explore various avenues without restricting your domain.
I do not have previous experience in programming. Will this put me at a disadvantage if I wish to pursue a major in CSE?
We have designed our programs in such a way that you will not be at a disadvantage if you do not have a background in programming. Many of our students tell us that they did not have a previous exposure to programming. We have designed our coursework to accommodate people from different backgrounds and in the first year of the program, we try to bring everyone up to speed with the basics of programming.
Is it mandatory to buy a laptop before I join the program?
We have well-equipped labs to support you throughout the coursework with any technology-related challenges. However, as a CSE major, it would be beneficial for you to have a laptop so that you have the freedom to work on your daily assignments and projects at any time of the day. We have a Wi-Fi enabled campus that allows you to stay connected 24X7.
