CALTech Activities in School of Bioengineering
The School of Bioengineering (SBE) offers BTech programme in Bioengineering which has a carefully planned and detailed curriculum. The school has developed state-of-art labs with updated instruments, best suited to give students the requisite expertise in various sub-domains of Bioengineering. CALTech, a novel method of teaching learning at VIT Bhopal complements to fulfil the purpose of the curriculum.
The essence of CALTech method is to help students find their potential. SBE always encourages students to do lab work and handle equipment by themselves. At the same time, it helps students to understand the worth of their responsibilities regarding their research work. In the video given below, the lab culture of SBE is shown. Check it out!
The CALTech activity in SBE is not only limited to the labs but is also encouraged through the form of open discussion and creative thinking during regular classes. The pictures given below were taken during ‘Global Health Challenges’, where students were asked to prepare posters in groups on the topic ‘Antibiotics use and misuse’. The outputs were in diverse forms, whether it be a cartoon poster from which a serious message had emerged or be it a simple and straight- forward poster, clearly depicting the message!
