No doubt this pandemic has shaken the entire world but Darwin’s theory is proved right one more time “Survival of the fittest”. Yes! We at VIT have faced  tough challenges in the last few months from various areas and we as a unit have successfully battled it out and overcame all the challenges and continuing our never ending journey towards reaching greater heights.

Virtual Reality based E – Convocation

VIT Bhopal’s first convocation has taken a new dimension through its Virtual Reality based E-Convocation, developed in house, by the Department of Gaming Technology, that the entire world witnessed with joy and surprise. Mr. Anirudh Jain, a BBA graduant said, “I am very happy to have an opportunity to receive my degree through virtual reality from our Chancellor, despite being at different locations. This will be a cherished memory during these challenging times.”

The E-convocation started at 11.A.M on 7th November 2020 with the Invocation followed by the welcome speech by the Vice-Chancellor of VIT Bhopal, Dr. P.Gunasekaran. Following him was Mr. K.K Nair, Registrar of VIT Bhopal University introduced the Chief Guest Shri Vishwas Sarang, Honourable Minister for Medical Education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. Following his introduction, Dr. G. Viswanathan, Honourable Chancellor of VIT Bhopal, delivered the Presidential address and declared the convocation ceremony open.

In his presidential address, he elaborated on the new future ready programs introduced in the VIT Bhopal University and further spoke about the student diversity in the campus. He also spoke about the rural student development programme under the name Support the Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) Scheme which was introduced in VIT Bhopal last year. He further said this convocation of VIT Bhopal has been called to confer the M.Tech., MCA and BBA degrees awarded by the University to the students who have successfully passed the examinations.

Chief Guest Shri. Vishwas Sarang – Honourable Minister for Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh gave the convocation address, he said, that he is extremely happy to be a part of the VIT Bhopal convocation ceremony and expressed his gratitude for making him a part of this memorable event and congratulated all the graduating students. During his short speech he said that the state of Madhya Pradesh had made remarkable progress in education in early 8th century which was apparently lost after the invasion by Britishers. He further said that the state of Madhya Pradesh has now several private and public universities of National repute because of several measures taken by the government to encourage higher education in the state. He also said that prominent among the universities in the state of M.P. is the VIT Bhopal University which he described as the jewel in the education crown of Central India.

Dr.J. Francis Xavier- Controller of Examinations, VIT Bhopal announced the rank holders of M.Tech, MCA and BBA Programs. Upon the declaration by the Honourable Chancellor of VIT Bhopal, Dr. G.Viswanathan, the PG and UG students were presented with their degrees. The Chancellor administered the pledge and all the fresh graduates of VIT Bhopal took the pledge. The convocation ceremony ended with National Anthem.
