The Robotics Workshop, a collaborative endeavor between the Electric Vehicle Club of VIT Bhopal and the Techfest, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, unfolded on September 15, 2023, at the VIT Bhopal University Auditorium. This enlightening event marked the convergence of experts and enthusiasts, providing a platform for an immersive exploration of robotics. Participants had the invaluable opportunity to build and program robots under the guidance of experienced mentors, deepening their understanding and equipping them with essential practical skills.
The core of the workshop featured technical sessions delivered by experts from both institutions, covering a broad spectrum of topics, from robotics fundamentals to programming and practical applications across industries. A thought-provoking panel discussion on the future of robotics and emerging trends added a dynamic dimension to the event, fostering vibrant exchanges of ideas among participants and experts alike. This workshop left attendees with enriched knowledge of robotics, hands-on experience in robot building and programming, and expanded professional networks. Moreover, it raised awareness of the collaborative efforts between the Electric Vehicle Club of VIT Bhopal and IIT Bombay, laying the foundation for continued knowledge-sharing and cooperation in the field of robotics.

VIT Bhopal’s “Ice-breaking” event for the incoming batch of 2023 commenced with great enthusiasm from 12th to 15th September 2023. The event’s primary participants were the newest members of our academic family, the freshers of 2023. They were welcomed with open arms and warm smiles by the entire VIT community, ensuring that their college journey began with excitement and camaraderie.
The outcomes of this event exceeded mere introductions; it forged lasting friendships and created unforgettable memories. Through engaging activities and games, freshers interacted and connected. They laughed during games like Dumb-charades, tested their knowledge with “Guess the Famous Dialogues,” and danced their hearts out during Music and Dance Switch. These activities, spread over four days, melted the ice and built bridges that would connect these students throughout their academic years. The Ice-breaking event of 2023 was a stage for the freshers to thrive and make the most of their college experience. This four-day extravaganza served as a memorable initiation into college life, skillfully organized under the guidance of the Director Students’ Welfare and hosted by the dedicated members of the Student Council along with Student Volunteers.

The Malayalam Club organized a splendid Onam celebration on September 5th and 6th, 2023 commemorating Kerala’s vibrant culture and traditions. The celebrations began on September 5th, with an electrifying flash mob and a traditional Vadamvali (tug of war) contest, exclusively for our students. The evening echoed with the enthusiasm and unity of participants. On September 6th, the festivities commenced with a vibrant Chenda Melam procession, capturing the essence of Kerala’s cultural richness.
The beats of the Chenda infused energy into the surroundings, creating an atmosphere of joy and anticipation. In the auditorium, a series of cultural performances unfolded, including the graceful Thiruvathira dance, group dances showcasing regional diversity, and an elegant ramp walk. These performances highlighted the talents and traditions of Kerala, captivating the audience. The grand finale of the celebration featured a delectable Onasadhya, a traditional feast comprising 18+ side dishes and the sweet treat of payasam. It was a culinary journey through the flavors of Kerala, representing the heart and soul of Onam. These festivities not only celebrated Onam’s spirit but also fostered a sense of cultural unity among our students and participants.

On August 15, 2023, VIT Bhopal University celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day with a touch of creativity, pride, and patriotism. Esteemed guests, including Air Commodore Mrigiinder Siingh VSM (Rtd.), Vice Chancellor (i/c) Dr. Senthil Kumar Arumugam, and Registrar Dr. Pradyumna Yadav, graced the occasion. The day commenced with the raising of the tricolor and the soul-stirring National Anthem. A symbolic act of planting trees by Air Commodore Mrigiinder Siingh and Vice-Chancellor (i/c) Dr. Senthil Kumar Arumugam represented growth and progress.
The Academic Block buzzed with a lively parade and a warm reception. The event featured creative highlights such as the prize distribution for the World UFO Day Poster Competition and the felicitation of AVAHAN’23 sports champions. Heartfelt gratitude was extended to the Security and cleaning Personnel for their unwavering dedication, underscoring the unity of purpose. Cultural performances by the Dance Club and Defence Warriors Club teams showcased creativity with powerful anti-ragging and patriotic dances. The Music Club added a melodious touch with a stirring patriotic song, evoking a profound sense of national pride. This Independence Day celebration at VIT Bhopal University hosted by members of the Student Council and student volunteers creatively encapsulated the essence of India’s 77th year of freedom, uniting the academic community in a memorable tribute to the nation.

At BioExpo’23 on August 12, 2023, the captivating world of microbiology came alive through a tapestry of intriguing experiments. Among the highlights was a microscopic voyage into microorganisms thriving in diverse water sources. This illuminating exploration emphasized the paramount significance of water quality for our well-being and the environment. Precise incubation unveiled the secrets hidden within mineral water, filtered water, and drain water, revealing a tapestry of microbial diversity and underscoring the urgency of clean, safe water for public health. Another spotlight was the Gel Electrophoresis experiment, illuminating the prowess of DNA analysis in forensic science. The race of DNA fragments through an electric field, aiding in criminal investigations, showcased the synergy between science and justice.
The BioExpo’23 workshop deepened participants’ microbiological prowess through hands-on experiences. The streaking experiment unraveled the art of bacterial colony isolation, a microbiologist’s fundamental skill. Participants mastered the delicate technique of streaking bacterial cultures on agar plates, fostering colony isolation—an indispensable skill. The Gram staining experiment empowered attendees with practical knowledge of microbial classification, equipping them to distinguish between bacterial species. Certificates of completion recognized their commitment to expanding their life science horizons. BioExpo’23 and its enriching workshop united education and hands-on practice in the captivating realm of microbiology, where science transforms into discovery.

The Punjabi Club’s inaugural event and Bhangra Night on April 12, 2023, drew a diverse audience of students, faculty, and guests. The inaugural event featured spirited Punjabi dance performances, showcasing the rich diversity of Punjabi dance forms. The Bhangra Night that followed was a high-energy extravaganza, featuring electrifying music and mesmerizing Gatka performances. Attendees, adorned in vibrant traditional attire, swayed to the infectious beats of Punjabi music. A delightful Punjabi food festival added flavor to the night, offering delectable dishes like chole bhature, paneer tikka, and lassi, all of which were enthusiastically relished.
The event’s pinnacle was a spirited Bhangra dance performance by various student and faculty groups, setting a lively tone for the evening. The Punjabi Club’s Inaugural Event and Bhangra Night exemplified their dedication to showcasing and celebrating Punjabi culture. The event’s organization, performances, cuisine, and festive ambiance were thoroughly enjoyed, fostering unity and cultural appreciation among attendees.

The Ram Navami and Gudi Padwa celebrations, organized by the Marathi Club on March 31, 2023, were a vibrant showcase of Indian culture and traditions. These festivities brought together individuals from various backgrounds to celebrate these significant Hindu festivals. The event began with traditional pujas, led by esteemed Assistant Vice President Ms. Kadhambari S. Viswanathan and university officials, symbolizing the start of the Hindu New Year and the birth of Lord Rama.
A spirited procession followed, featuring the raising of the Gudi flag, a symbol of victory, and the rhythmic beats of dhol tasha. The celebration was a blend of tradition and modernity, with Lord Rama’s songs played by a DJ, creating an energetic atmosphere. Prasad’s distribution and expressions of gratitude further enriched the event, fostering a sense of community and unity. This celebration not only honored culture and traditions but also strengthened bonds among students, faculty, and staff, exemplifying the vibrant heritage of India.

The Sharada 2023: Saraswati Puja celebration, hosted by the Bengali Club at VIT Bhopal on January 27, 2023, attended by around 200 individuals was dedicated to honoring Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, creativity, and music. The heart of the event was the soulful Saraswati Vandana performed by the passionate Bengali Club students, seeking blessings for wisdom and artistic inspiration. The cultural extravaganza unfolded with mesmerizing solo and ensemble dance performances, showcasing the diverse and rich dance heritage of Bengal.
Additionally, Abritti, recitations of literary works, added a poetic dimension to the evening, displaying linguistic and poetic talents. To engage the audience, a Movie Song Trivia competition was organized, fostering enthusiasm and active participation. The event concluded on a high note with a group song performance by the Bengali Club, followed by the distribution of food packets, providing a delightful conclusion to the evening. Sharada 2023 was an unforgettable experience, blending cultural performances, interactive contests, and delectable food, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

The event commenced with a traditional Aarti, infusing the festivities with a sacred aura.
Amidst the backdrop of students donning exquisite Gujarati attire, the night unfolded with captivating dance performances to the rhythmic beats of Gujarati songs. The energy and enthusiasm were palpable as participants immersed themselves in the joyous Garba dance, creating lasting cultural memories.
